Diaper Hopscotch

Kasyn found my diaper stash of Teig's and told me she wanted to use them to play hopscotch. I had no idea what she was talking about and so I decided I would see what she would do. She alternated every other diaper, two diapers, then one, then two, then one and so on. Then she just started jumping on them. Teig has now learned the correct way to do it (according to Kasyn). She's so creative.

Puppy Love

No, these are not our dogs. My neighbor has three Chihuahuas and our children absolutely adore them. In fact, on a daily basis Kasyn will ask me if we can get a dog. My response to her is, "how old do you have to be before we can get a dog?" and she says, "seven." I say "are you seven yet?" She says "no" and then life goes on for that day. My neighbor has given us dog treats so that my kids can feed them through the hole in our fence between houses. So any time they hear the dogs barking, they run and ask me if they can have a treat to give to them. The little black one is named Chloe. Any time Teig hears them barking he runs to the hole in the fence and yells, "Chwoee". They still need practice and help when they try and hold them.

Pilot to Co-Pilot

While Grandma and Grandpa were here, we visited the National Air Force Museum. Kasyn and Teig had such a great time. Teig would stick his arms out to his sides and run up and down the aisles pretending like he was an airplane. Every single plane we passed, he would say "epwane, epwane." He got a lot of laughs from people there. They were incredibly good the whole time. Hisory Fact: The torpedo/atomic bombs were replicas of the first a-bombs that were used in Heroshima and Nagasaki.

2 Days Left of Summer

I don't think weather like this will last too much longer. I have been promising Kasyn for the last month that we could do the elephant slip'n'slide and to make it up to her I thought that a pool waterslide would be a lot of fun too. It is 83 degrees today. Perfect Weather. Enjoy!

Here Comes Fall!

I can't believe that summer is nearly over. That probably means that I will have less to blog about since the weather will be cooling down and we won't be spending as much time outdoors. But in an effort to bring in the newest season...kids and pumpkins always do the trick.

In Remembrance.......9/11

Today we went to the statehouse. I feel bad that I couldn't get all of the flags in the pictures, but it was the best I could do. There are 2,999 flags each representing someone in 9/11 who lost their lives from the Twin Towers, to the Pentagon, to the field in Pennsylvania where the plane crashed. The circle that is cut out of the flags represents the Pentagon. It was really a beautiful thing to see and always a good reminder of everything we have to be grateful for. Please keep the families of those whose lives were taken in your prayers.

Yummy Buckeye

While Kasyn was in preschool we went to the Anthony Thomas Chocolate Factory for a tour. Teig and I are standing next to a 235 pound Buckeye. For those of you not familiar with what a buckeye is, it is chocolate on the outside and peanut butter in the middle. It sells for $3,500 (let me know if anyone wants to go in on it with me).

Scary Face

After Grandma and Papa got here, out of the blue, he decided to pull a scary face for them. He's been working on it now for the past couple of days. While he's holding his mouth, he let's out a great big "RRRROOOOAR".

Princess Birthday Presents!

Grandma and Papa Johnson finally arrived yesterday from their long trip driving from Utah to visit for a couple of weeks. Since they weren't here for Kasyn's birthday, they brought her present. Grandma made another beautiful quilt for Kasyn. If you can't tell it's a Disney Princess quilt. She is amazing at quilting! Kasyn also got some princess dress shoes and her and Teig took turns trying them on (I thought that I would leave pictures of Teig in girls shoes out, so he doesn't get made fun of later in life). Before Kasyn fell asleep, she asked for her new quilt to sleep with. After she got done putting her quilt over her bed she said, "there nice and even". Hopefully she's not starting into OCD this young.

Peek-A-Boo

Kasyn asked me to find her today and as I approached my room, where I heard her calling me from, I heard a rustling of the paper bag and discovered her peeking out of the top. It was too good to pass up. On a side note, she went to her well visit doctor's appointment yesterday for her annual checkup and weighed in at a whopping 31.8 pounds and was 40.5 inches tall. On the growth chart she came in at 0% for weight and 70% for her height. Her doctor was happy with that and so I guess I am too.

His Name is "Vowel"

Kasyn started her first day of preschool yesterday. She said that she really liked her class and teacher. They learned about the letter "A" and she got to make this alligator puppet. When Jason got home from work he asked her what the alligator's name is and she said "his name is Vowel". Yep, that's right, Vowel the Alligator.

How Many Kids Can Fit Inside A Hula Hoop???

Okay, so I think we could have fit at least three other kids and still had room. Also, I just want to point out that this was a kids sized hula hoop. They thought that it was a lot of fun to keep adding in more kids to see who could fit.
