KFC and Daddy To The Rescue

This past week I was really sick with strep throat and an ear infection and so Jason was left to pick up my slack around the house and with the kids. He did a really good job and was very entertaining. He brought home KFC for dinner one night since I was in no shape to do much of anything. The kids loved it. Kasyn does not like chicken at all, but Jason got her to try it and she couldn't get enough.
Later that night, he made a game out of seeing who could get undressed for bed the fastest and as shirts were flying off of heads, Teig's landed on his head. He told us that he was an elephant with long ears. He and Kasyn began walking back and forth so that the arms on their shirts were swinging as they walked. What entertainment!

Their First Movie Theatre Trip

We took the kids to their first movie a couple of weeks ago. We didn't tell them where we were going, just that we wanted to surprise them. I still don't think that they had any idea what was happening once we got there either.

A couple of days after the movie I had the following conversation with Kasyn:
Kasyn: Mommy, can we get a dog?
Me: How old do you need to be?
Kasyn: Six
Me: Yep, that's right!
Kasyn: Oh yeah, and I want a cat too.
Me: We can't have a cat because I'm allergic.
Kasyn: That's okay, I'll take care of it.
Me: But then I couldn't be in the house.
Kasyn: Oh...well then where will you live?
In my head while I'm laughing, I'm thinking..."I guess in the dog house with the dog."

The Tale of Despereaux was the next movie that they saw last week and it didn't get as great reviews from the kids as Bolt got. I think we will have to get it since it was their first. Oh yeah, the battery on my camera kept shutting off when I tried taking these pictures so that's why they aren't so great.

What We Do When It's Cold Outside

For Christmas, Teig got this Thomas the Train inflatable bounce house. Since then, he has been very apprehensive about jumping in it. In fact, once I turn on the fan, he starts shaking really hard. But finally, with some help of ice cream, I was able to convince the poor little guy to give it another try. We put it down in our basement since it has been cold outside and somehow it miraculously fit. I like that it is completely netted all the way around it so they can't fall out of it if they do fall. Thanks for helping out with getting this gift for him, Steve.
