Ouch!

I normally wouldn't send pictures of my leg over the internet, but I thought that maybe it would be a post to make people aware. I had this thing on my leg that looked a lot like an ingrown hair. It was a bump that was raised and a reddish-pink color to it. I also had some sort of lump in my hair. So Jason suggested that I go to a plastic surgeon to have them removed since they were still growing. The thing on my leg was called a Dermatofibroma. The doctor said that if you don't get them treated within a reasonable amount of time, they can become cancerous. All I could think was that this thing had been on my leg for a year now and needless to say, I was a little bit nervous. The good news is that I just got back the pathology on it and it is benign. But it could have been a different story if I had waited on it longer. The scar is healing nicely now.

Kasyn Turns 4!

I really just wanted to show off Jason's creativity. Kasyn has been asking for a Dora cake for a really long time and since we didn't want to spend a lot on a cake that no one would eat, Jason took on the challenge of making one freehand. I mixed the colors of the frosting and he used just a butter knife and child's spoon to make Dora. I was very impressed with the outcome. Jason said the real test would be to see if Teig could identify who was on the cake. As soon as he saw her, he pointed at the cake and stuck his finger in the frosting and said "Dowa". So I think it passed the test. I think that she had a fun birthday overall and got everthing that she asked for...which was a hula hoop and a jump rope.

Where A Kid Can Be A Kid

So over last weekend, we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheeses to celebrate Kasyn turning 4. For some reason Kasyn couldn't remember his name and so instead all day long she kept saying, "are we going 'Where a kid can be a kid' yet?" She was a little bit concerned when we got there and she saw him in person, she wouldn't even give him "five". Teig wanted absolutely nothing to do with him and was trying to climb over Jason's back to get away from him. We all got to play a lot of games and before we knew it, we had been there for three hours. It was such a big hit with the kids that when we left Kasyn said, "can we go back again tomorrow?"

Teig's Early Birthday Present

Teig got his birthday present from Aunt Erica early this year, since she won't be here for his birthday and it looked too fun not to want to play with it immediately. Needless to say, they've spent the last week playing with it out on our deck. It's so much fun, even I play it with them.

Ring around the Rabbits

The same day we went to the Fort, we went to another water park. Hunter was so surprised when Kasyn dumped the cold bucket of water all over his back that he jumped up so quickly and ran away and I couldn't take the picture with the look of surprise on his face. After they were finished playing in the fountains, they ran up the hill to see the rabbits.

Holding Down The Fort

We took the kids to a couple of water parks, this one was something that I could have only dreamed of going to when I was a kid. Hunter immediately started attacking the kids that were already there and then it was full on water war for him. After playing with cousins half your age, I'm sure he was happy to be with other kids his own age. Teig was just happy squirting his mouth with the water gun. But Kasyn had to get in on the action. I'm sure she made Hunter proud.

Don't Fall In

Erica is such a great Aunt. My kids love her so much. It was such a nice break to have them fly out here and spend the week with us. Any time Erica or Hunter left the room, Teig would shout "Eeeekaa", "Huntaa". Kasyn on the other hand, wasn't nice to her aunt the whole time she was here. But she loved playing with her cousin Hunter.

Don't I Look Innocent?

If you notice, Teig and Kasyn are both holding rocks in their hands. Kasyn has much better balance than Teig and he pushes it by getting too close to the shore to throw the rocks in the water. I hope that the poor kid doen't fall in to the water again!

Somewhere On The Scioto

My sister and nephew flew out to visit us this past week and we decided to go on a little hike to this place. On the way there, I told my nephew that rivers in the Midwest and East aren't like the rivers in the West. They are much wider. I think that he believes my now. While we were there my nephew decided to wade out into the water and ended up to his knees in sinking mud and none of us made any attempt to get him out, we were too busy laughing at him.

Johnson Family(and Hunter)

Apparently we have a stowaway in the picture. We kept asking him to move but he was too busy looking for fish and frogs.
