Easter Egg Hunting

The kids were invited to an egg hunt last Saturday with some friends at a local park and then breakfast afterwards. The only problem was that it was freezing. All of the kids were freezing before long, I hear Jason say, "I can't do this anymore, I'm going to the car." Thank goodness hunting eggs doesn't take too long, especially with such great searchers. They had fun and are still enjoying all of the candy.

After the easter egg hunt they counted their eggs, thank goodness Teig doesn't understand that finding the most eggs is a good thing.

She was so exited to find these cute pink pj's with the bunny on the front. Just in time for Easter.

The Easter bunny definitely went overboard on the goodies, but so far they have played with everything that they got.

Hail..Teig!!!

He's going to hate me for this later in life, but I had to. I couldn't stop laughing at him. He was eating a Reese's Peanut Butter Egg (made in Germany) and I think it was a little bit too much chocolate for him because he opened his mouth and the next thing I knew, he moved his bottom lip until his upper lip was no longer showing resulting in the awesome mustache.

Kindergarten Registration

Today was a very bitter-sweet day for me. While driving to register Kasyn for Kindergarten, she informed me that I would no longer need to be helping her as much anymore because she is going to learn a lot in kindergarten. Of course, I got teary eyed. How could my baby girl be ready for such a big step in her life? If I am not ready for this, how is she so sure that she is ready? We were able to meet with her new teacher and see where her class would be. She even gets her own locker. All I got when I started kindergarten was a hook with a prong that had been broken off. In the bottom picture, she is having a hearing test done and then a speech test to follow. Well at least now I know that when I say her name ten times and she doesn't respond, it has nothing to do with being deaf.

I'm On It!

While Jason was on call Wednesday, I decided to have a couple of friends come over for dinner since their husbands were also working that night. After going grocery shopping and coming home to a not so tidy home, I told Kasyn that she could go and take a nap or stay awake and clean up her toys while I started on dinner. She said didn't want to nap, so I said "alright then start cleaning up your toys", to which she replied, "alright mommy, I'm on it!" While putting her books away in our armoire, she closed her thumb in the door and began to cry. I was busy with dinner and after kissing it and still seeing tears, I told her she could cry until it felt better, to which she said, "okay, I'm just going to take a little break then." While on her "break" from helping me clean, she said in her saddest voice, "my other four finger feel sad for my thumb too." I could tell she just wanted a little sympathy from me, so I folded and rocked her for a bit to help the sadness subside.

The Weather

Kasyn asked me yesterday if it was alright to take her jacket off while she was playing outside. I was inside and instead of going to the door to feel if it felt nice I asked her what she thought of the weather. She hesistated for a minute at the door and pulled her jacket off of her shoulder a little to expose her skin on her arm a little bit and then said, "It feels absolutely wonderful."
