Busy, Busy, Busy

I just wanted to give Jason some much deserved credit for helping me out here at home. He works so much at his job and then he comes home and tries to help me as well. I just thought that this would be proof of the help I do have, just in case I ever complain that he isn't home very much to help me.

Snake Clamation

Why can't I be so creative with playdough?

He's especially proud of the coiled tail. Now...what to name him. Any suggestions?

It Is So Cold Here That...

There is actually frost on the inside of my kitchen windows.

First written word

So when Kasyn told me that she was going to "spell" some words, I thought that sounded pretty educational. So this is the word that she came up with. Then she said "did I spell a word?" Thanks goodness that with all of her reading lessons she didn't try and sound it out. So this is officially the first word that she was able to write without help and I couldn't be prouder (ha, ha).

Fridge Drawings

When Kasyn told me that our fridge had been written on, I had no idea how bad it would be. I never thought that I would be the one to miss something like this. I was in the other room when Teig made his mark. I had made it through a whole child not writing on any walls and then Teig goes and ruins my quota. I do like how he decided to color in between each letter however. He also had the pleasure of cleaning it off of the fridge and a time out to follow. That'll teach him... hopefully.

Abracadabra

Teig decided to do magic tricks and used his pirate hat as a magic hat. I never knew of the magical talent he had.

Ode To The Slippers

Sure they don't look that bad now...

But when you turn them over, you can see the problem. So I came up with a solution...

New slippers for Christmas!
It probably seems odd that I would waste an entry on a pair of slippers, but I wanted to remember what the old ones looked like. You see, there are a lot of stories to go with all of the holes that I made in them. Like I remember getting them for the first Christmas we had Kasyn (she was four months old). We were in Utah and Jason took me shopping while his family watched her. It was our first date since she was born that we went on without her. It was my first time ever thinking that my feet were getting cold in our apartment from just wearing socks around all day after deciding to be a stay at home mom. They then accompanied us across the country from Ohio to Nevada. In Nevada, we had Teig. I knew the weather would have to be warmer there and I wouldn't need them but "boy" was I wrong. It does get cold there and there were a lot of nights that I would be up with Teig and didn't want my feet cold or from the possibility of cockroaches attacking my bare toes during the late night feedings. After Nevada, we came all the way back to Ohio and guess what...the slippers were right there ready to do their job again. But this time it was in a not in an apartment but an actual home our first home! I thought that they would have been able to get me through another year, but I guess after four years, it's time to let them finally retire. There have been a lot of great memories that they have been there for, some spit up from both kids, maybe me dropping a drink or food on them. But they always tried to protect my clean socks and feet. I'm not sure how many miles I may have put on them, but they were definitely great slippers and needed a tribute. Now, lets see how long the new ones will hold up for and how many memories they will be there for.
