Cold Weather and Snow

I should have taken the picture at its high point. I love snow that is clean looking and hasn't been stepped in, it looks so pretty.
In the beginning of winter, Kasyn wouldn't be caught dead in her bibs. But since she found out that just wearing her pants to play in gets way too cold and wet, she tried out her bibs and loves them. Plus they have the added benefit of being slick for sliding on.

She loves her princess gloves and hat and has recently found pink to be her favorite color over purple.

Somewhere Over the Double Rainbows

It has been a long time since I have seen a rainbow, let alone two rainbows. It was so magnificent. It stretched clear across the sky. I can't imagine how much gold could be at the bottom of a double rainbow.

The Bell Boy and Girl

After my parents left and it was just me and the kids again, Kasyn decided it was time to read a story to Teig. She loves reading books to him and making up her own story as she goes. What a good sister.
As soon as they noticed that the luggage my parents brought had wheels on it, they took turns pushing it to each other.

Teig would have taken the luggage out to the car if he could have, he did not want my parents to take it from him when they had to leave. What a fun toy it made.

Rescuing Me and the Kids

So, my parents decided to make trip to visit us at the end of January/beginning of February. They stayed for a week and even though it meant that we weren't able to get out of the house much because of the horrible weather and winter we are having, it was just nice to see my family again. They helped me work on some projects I had around my house. They also helped break up a very boring winter. I really needed the company and so did the kids. They were a godsend during a very gloomy long month of Jason not being home much from work. Thanks Mom and Dad for all the love and the visit...we needed it!

Meeting the Characters

They both were a little bit wary at first, but when Raggedy Ann wanted a hug from Kasyn, she finally let her.
This was their favorite. In fact, they still pretend that they are "Coastie the tugboat". They rescue their animals mostly.

Winnie the Pooh got no love from Kasyn or Teig. It's probably because they didn't recognize him without his red shirt on.

Bounce Houses and Slides

Why couldn't they have fun bounce houses when I was a kid?

I had to take Teig down this slide and it was so incredibly scary. I didn't think that it would be but the slope of the slide is so steep. Kasyn loved it. At the bottom Teig was shaking like crazy. I think the adrenaline kicked in too much for both of us. Needless to say, he hasn't wanted to jump in a bounce house ever since. Poor little guy.

Kasyn's at the very top waiting to slide down.

I had to carry Teig and 2 potato sacks for us to slide down on. These aren't even stairs and it was such a trek trying to climb up it. Kasyn even struggled with it. Maybe six years without any mountain hiking is catching up to me.

This was a safari jungle inflatable. It looked like so much fun.

Face Paintings

A couple of weeks ago, I took the kids to a reading festival. They had a lot of different activities like bounce houses and characters in costumes, face paintings and lots of books. The kids really liked it. Kasyn decided on a cat and Teig got a soccer ball.
