Kasyn's School Christmas Program

Kasyn had her very first Christmas program for preschool. In the email that I received, it said to wear red or green. I assumed that they meant shirts and Kasyn wasn't about to wear a dress, but as all of the kids began to file in to the room, I noticed that she was the only girl in jeans. That's my girl. She definitely takes after her mom in the not liking to wear dresses category.

Two of her friends from her class are standing to her left. Emily and Kyle. She did a really great job and was so excited to see herself on video after the concert.

Visiting Santa At The Zoo

For the last two years, we have been going to the zoo during the Christmas season. Not only is Santa there. But they have really beautiful christmas lights and great light shows that they put to Christmas music.

Kasyn told Teig that she saved him a spot next to her for this picture.

They have a really great light show over the pond, but the reflection off of the water is pretty cool too.

We decided to go see the aquarium and we had just made it there as Scuba Santa was diving in to feed the fish.

Happy Halloween

After spending one week sequestered through Halloween, Jason decided that it was okay to take the kids out on beggars night trick-or-treating. We had just missed trunk-or-treating the night before at the church with their friends and this was their last chance to go.

Being pregnant didn't help with my choice of costumes for taking the kids around. Plus I was still running a fever and didn't want to expose anyone around us as we went door to door. So before leaving work that night, Jason grabbed a spare mask and hat which which worked out well.

We found this beer belly at a card outlet store for $10 and Jason decided it would be worth it.

I think that the wig worked out to his advantage as well.

I love this picture of the boys together. Can you see any resemblance in the two of them? Jason says Teig looks more like me than him.

This next Halloween, I will be letting the kids pick out their costumes a week before Halloween, since they couldn't seem to make up their minds on what they wanted to be this year and last year I got their costumes for 75% off and they were forced to wear them.

Packers Vs. Browns

This is a view of Lake Eerie from the stadium. What a beautiful day for a game.

Jason's seats were with the Browns season ticket holders. He got them from one of the doctors that he works with that has Browns season tickets. The guy is either drunk or really sad because the Browns were losing.

He went with 3 of his co-workers, only one of which was a Greenbay fan. The others were just there for a trip with the guys and to watch a live game.

Jason, Josh and Jamison are all in gen. surgery together and are all in their 3rd year.

Wish I could have gone too, it looks like they had a good time.

Pumpkin Patch Picking

Kasyn's preschool took a trip to a farm where there were a ton of different activities for the kids to do. This thing with the blue tarp covering it is a kids maze that you have to crawl through to find your way. Behind it with the white roof was a petting zoo that we visited before we left,
Kasyn had a hard time deciding between which pumpkin she liked the best.

Teig tried to tell me he wanted the pumpkin that had already been open.

They loved the corn maze. We went through it a couple of times so they could take turns being the leader.

We took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch and thought that I would show some Ohio fall foliage at its best. The trees were gorgeous.

They loved going on the hayride together and were a little unsure of what to hold on to as the ride left.

Before we left I told Teig that we couldn't jump in the bounce house anymore and so he threw one of the biggest tantrums that a just turned 3 year old can throw. Thank goodness we were one of the last cars in the field trip left. I had to try and carry him plus 2 big muddy pumpkins out to the car. I ended up leaving the pumpkins in the parking lot and carrying Teig as he was kicking and screaming at me the whole way to the car and then had to go back for the pumpkins. Looking back on the day, I should've just let the kid jump a little longer.

Oct. 12

Teig's 3rd Birthday!

Teig had a great birthday. Jason was actually on call on his birthday, so we decided to have it the night before when Jason got home from work.

I hope that his wish came true. He said that he couldn't tell us what he wished for.

Jason's cake decorating skills at their best. I know...it looks like it was done by a professional. Ha, ha.

Teig also got his first Ken doll for his birthday, courtesy of Grandpa and Grandma Johnson. It was Kasyn's idea because when they were visiting, they bought her the Three Musketeer Barbie and she said that he needed the prince to play with her. I think he enjoyed all of his presents from everyone. Thanks!

Columbus Crew And The Johnson's Too!

We were finally able to go to a Crew game this year. Someone in the Advocate group that I am in was giving away 2 tickets and I had a coupon for a free ticket and because Teig was only 2 years at the time, he got in free. So it worked out really well. At the time of this game they were undefeated. This was Teig's first trip to a soccer game and Kasyn's second.

Jason and I decided to tell the kids that we were taking them on an adventure that night and they were both really excited. We had to reiterate that it was somewhere that we had never been before. When we arrived, we told them that it was a stadium and that inside there was a soccer game going on. I think they loved the atmosphere of the whold event.

Kasyn kept telling Jason that she wanted a horn like everyone else that was blowing one and so he left Teig and I to fend for ourselves and after being gone about 30 minutes, they found the horn store. The good news was that when we got H1N1 in October, they couldn't blow it anymore so they wouldn't get each other sick.

Oct. 3

The Zoo and a TV Stand Too!

While Jason's mom and dad were here, he got a week off of work and this was the outcome by the time his parents left. We were given a huge 250+ pound TV and had no stand for it. Problem solved!
Teig sure does love you and miss you grandpa!

I'm happy that my kids can find places to climb on other than our furniture in the house.

Last stop before Grandma and Grandpa left was the zoo and lucky for us we went on a day when the Koala's were actually awake, since they sleep 22 hours a day.

I think Teig is concerned that Kasyn is going to fall off.

Sept. 17

Trip To Newport Aquarium

While Jason's parents were here, we took a trip down to Cincinnati to this aquarium. We had heard really great reviews about it from other people around here and I had never been to Cincinnati and so we made a day trip out of it.

I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty of a city Cincinnati is. This river separates Kentucky from Ohio.

They had times during the day when divers would come and feed the fish and sharks. Kasyn said that she wanted to tickle his toes and so daddy complied.

I love how Teig and Kasyn weren't scared of the birds. There were so many and they were pooping all over the place, I am grateful that we got out unscathed.

I thought that Jason did a really great job with trying to use the different options on our camera to get a better quality of picture. This jellyfish is a good example of is work. I think jellyfish are Teig's favorite kind of fish now.

This was a wave pool to have a more natural habitat for the fish that were inside.

They had so many different sea creatures that you could touch in the pools.

All in all it was a great day at the aquarium. The kids still talk about going. We will definitely be going back.

Sept. 15

Grandpa Goes To The Y

Grandpa and Grandma Johnson came to town over Labor Day in September and so we took the kids to the pool for the last time before it closed. As you can tell it was a really busy day there. Grandpa would have the kids hold on to the end of the noodle and he would spin them around until they couldn't hold on anymore. It didn't work so well when it was my turn to get spun.

They pretended that they were on a boat and got to take turns steering it.

Raspberry Picking

After waiting all summer and talking to the kids about picking raspberries, we finally were able to go to a farm and pick some. I thought that it would take us about an hour from start to finish to do it, but instead it took 2 1/2 hours and we only ended up with four containers filled.

Sure it may look like Teig was being a good helper, but that was about the only raspberry he picked that whole day.

Kasyn did such a great job at picking. There were bees and japanese beetles everywhere and she would just shoo them away with her hand (I wish I were that fearless). I literally had to run from the patch in order to not get stung.

When we got home, we made raspberry jam together that day and for the next three days ate the remainder of the raspberries. Now, I think that they are the kids favorite fruit because they ask for them on almost a daily basis.
